1978 Development and construction of sensors and measuring systems in the Department of Biophysics of the Institute for Breeding Research Quedlinburg.

1981 Doctorate in "Heat transfer measurements of transversely flowed against cylindrical bodies" at the Technical University Ilmenau.

1990-1998 Work in the Agrarian Ecological Institute Quedlinburg, co-operation and leading of different projects for the development of non-destructive measuring procedures for the characterisation of substantial parameters of plant growth under atrificial and open land conditions. The emphasis of the work was situated in systems of gas change measuring technique, radiation measurement, temperature and dampness measuring technique. The selection and adjustment of suitable sensor technology to the problems of the vegetable measuring technique were processed intensively thereby.
