RehaMove - Movement Therapy with Functional Electrical Stimulation
The new RehaMove assists individuals with temporary or permanent paralysis of arms and legs.
Paralysed muscles are often very weak because active limb movements are limited or impossible. Thus relearning complex movements is inhibited and the rehabilitation process as a whole is delayed. Permanent lesions have long term consequences on a person’s well being, affecting for example the cardio-vascular system or an increased risk for pressure sores.
For the treatment of paralysis, motorised ergometers are often used like the popular MOTOmed. The RehaMove system is designed to complement such movement therapy with additional electrical stimulation, whereupon paralysed muscles are activated to generate muscle strength.
Regular exercise with the RehaMove rebuilds muscle strength and bulk, improves your feelings of well-being and helps to avoid secondary diseases.
