Experience reports

Kliniken Beelitz GmbH - Clinic for neurological rehabilitation

During a demonstration [...] RehaDigit was able to convince us to use it since April 2017 in the fields of orthopaedics, trauma surgery, rheumatology and neurology. The handling and operation of the device is simple and understandable. We feel a great acceptance on the part of the patients and experience above all positive feedback. Even patients who are rather anxious, even afraid of pain and thus avoid movements or are afraid of mobilisation by the therapist can be very well introduced to movements by RehaDigit. In the field of neurology a good tone regulation can be achieved, the sensory system is stimulated, constructive activities succeed more positively. The possibility of adjusting the speed and vibration intensity, as well as the hand and wrist position, is very variable and can therefore be adapted to the patient's abilities and progress. During treatment with RehaDigit, our patients wear a cloth glove, which facilitates disinfection of the device. We do not want to miss the RehaDigit in our daily work anymore.

Outpatient rehabilitation centre Klinik am Stein Dortmund

As an outpatient rehabilitation centre for neurology and geriatrics, we use RehaDigit within the occupational therapy department. It is used both as part of individual training in the arm laboratory group and as preparation for ADL training in individual therapy. We use RehaDigit for the passive movement of the finger joints in priority clinical pictures in which sensorimotor disorders occur, such as those that occur increasingly after a stroke, multiple sclerosis or some rheumatic diseases. A direct short-term to medium-term effect in our patients is the regulation of muscle tone and improved blood circulation. Due to the various settings such as speed, oscillation, vibration and duration, the RehaDigit can be used by a large number of patient groups described above. Their feedback is usually positive and treatment with RehaDigit is usually described as beneficial. Occasionally, patients express the wish for a thumb extension. For the therapists work with RehaDigit, the intuitive operation via the touch display can be emphasized [...].

Asklepios Schlossberg Klinik Bad König

The Asklepios Schlossberg Clinic is a facility for early neurological rehabilitation Phase B. Since September 2017 we have integrated RehaDigit into the treatment of the upper extremities. Patients with spasticity (max. MAS grade 1), hyper- and hypotonus, sensitivity disorders and MFT 0-4 are treated first and foremost. The following effects have been observed in therapy so far: Neglect patients showed an improved perception of the affected side; improved sensomotoric perception of the fingers; better mobility of the functionally impaired fingers as preparation for self-training; reduction of muscle tone. Overall, the device is well received by patients and the treating therapists as a therapy support. The RehaDigit is user-friendly and can be operated independently by patients with good cognitive performance. Thus, it can also be used in therapy-free times for additional mobilization of functionally limited fingers and sensitivity disorders.
